Purpose

This is a one-day, hands-on ultrasound course designed for physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners working in various specialties. The course will cover ultrasound physics, E-FAST, renal and biliary ultrasound, AAA, ocular, lung, skin and soft tissue, cardiac and IVC evaluation, and vascular access.

Target Audience

  • Physicians and Advanced Practice Professionals

Learning Outcomes  

    • Learners will be able to competently perform and interpret point-of-care ultrasound examinations for defined clinical indications, demonstrating proper probe selection, image acquisition, anatomical identification, and basic clinical interpretation as verified through in-class skills assessment.

    • Learners will self-report an increase in knowledge related to the development and implementation of innovative educational strategies across learning environments. 

    • Learners will self-report an increase in confidence in the ability to obtain and optimize diagnostic-quality point-of-care ultrasound images relevant to my clinical practice. 

    • Learners will self-report an increase in knowledge using point-of-care ultrasound relevant to their clinical practice area.
